If I buy a Laser Printer do I have to get both toner and a drum for it to work? - brother hl-2142 mono laser printer drum cartridge
If I buy the Brother HL-2142 Mono Laser Printer also buy Brother DR-2125 drum Brother TN-2130 Toner Cartridge work for them?
What is the difference between toner and drum? It seems that with one without the other (I'm confused can print). The drum is just a more expensive type of toner print qulity.

You can think of the drum and toner like an ink cartridge and print head. The toner is like the ink (ie the black stuff that goes onto the page) and the drum houses the toner cartridge (just like the print head houses the ink cart). The toner needs to be replaced when it runs out. The drum needs to be replaced when you start to get lines or 'blank' spots on your print. You will need to replace your drum after every 4 or so toners.
